Dominican Republic Flag and How To Recognize It

Dominican Republic flag

The Dominican Republic flag came into being in 1844.

The blue and red boxes were adpoted from the Haitian flag as Haiti had controlled the country after the Spanish.

A white cross features on the Dominican Republic flag, a sign of faith and sacrifice, which features the Coat of Arms of the Dominican Republic in its centre. The white of the cross on the flag signifies the pride and determination of the people of the Dominican Republic.

Like in many countries, the colour red in the Dominican Republic flag represents the blood shed by previous generations and the blue represents the vast sky and the endless opportunities it brings.
