Cuba Flag and How To Recognize It

The official flag of Cuba was inaugurated on 20th May, 1902, after the country's independence from American rule.

According to the Government of Cuba, the three blue stripes on the flag of Cuba represent the three old divisions or provinces of Cuba.

The white star on the flag of Cuba symbolizes freedom and the red triangle, which has masonic significance is the blood shed whilst fighting for freedom as well as representing fraternity, equality and freedom.

Narciso López is credited with generating the concept of the Cuba flag, which was in turn designed by his friend, the poet Miguel Teurbe Tolón.
